Our Programming

We have run our first retreats in Central Vermont (Montpelier) since July 2018. In 2023, after a pause because of COVID-19, we expanded our programming into upstate New York (Lake George) and this year in the Catskill Mountains. Youth and artists have been transformed by those experiences, and have continued access to connect with mentors who will offer support beyond the retreat. Each applicant should submit a Statement of Purpose on why they would like to attend our retreat (500 words or less) and a deposit fee.

Youth will receive community artist mentors that will help them prepare for auditions, high school & college applications, and more. Mentors will be in youth's lives beyond the duration of the retreat. Ages 13-17.

artist retreat

Our week long artist retreat happens after our youth camp in early July. Dates tba. Our sessions and activities will focus on 1) Spiritual & Mental Wellness,  2) Arts & Culture, 3) Environment and 4) Social Justice. Artists will also have the chance to work on a performance inspired by the life and work of Alexander Twilight in Vermont and the U.S. What offerings toward these areas of focus does Twilight offer us in an age of Black Lives Matter activism, new healing initiatives and reclaiming of indigenous spiritual traditions? This retreat is for emerging artists whose work focuses on a praxis of performance and socially engaged work.
